Our Story

Mean Eyed Cat Driftwood marks the next chapter for an Austin original. The bar’s story began in a modest chainsaw repair shop on the edge of Clarksville, where its rustic interior and Johnny Cash memorabilia earned it a loyal following. Now, the spirit lives on in Driftwood, with a brand-new space that carries forward the same outlaw charm. Guests can raise a glass from a curated lineup of local drafts and craft cocktails while soaking in the Cash-inspired atmosphere indoors—or step outside to a sprawling patio and lawn.

Lindy

Hi I’m Lindy! I was raised in San Antonio, but moved out to the beautiful hill country in 2013 to attend Texas State for microbiology while continuing my journey in the hospitality industry! My home base is currently in San Marcos, but in the last decade I’ve lived and worked in many of the towns within the area including San Mo, New Braunfels, Wimberley, Driftwood, Kyle and Buda! Some of you might even recognize me from one of the local bars I’ve worked at nearby! I always dreamed of a cool & casual bar in one of the smaller communities here that would stay open ‘til 2am every day so when Mean Eyed Cat opened a location in Driftwood I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be back in the local bar scene serving one of my favorite communities! I love putting care and effort into everything I do, especially providing true hill country hospitality to my fellow night owls looking for a place to relax and unwind whether it’s local residents, commuters, fellow industry friends, or curious first-time visitors looking for a great and memorable experience! But no matter the time of day I’m beyond grateful to be surrounded by amazing people on both sides of the bar, and working alongside the best team of bartenders and co-workers a girl could ask for!! When I’m not hard at work I spend my time with my loved ones, trying new places to eat and drink, shooting pool, or just being a couch potato.
